Transcript request: what is ';hold for current term'; or ';hold for degree';?

A transcript request form at a college has two selections:

';hold for degree'; and ';hold for current term';.

What does each mean?Transcript request: what is ';hold for current term'; or ';hold for degree';?
';Hold for current term'; means that you want the Registrar's Office to process your transcript after the grades from the most current term are posted on your transcript. If you attended the Fall term, you might want to select this choice if you want your transcript to be sent after your grades are posted. Keep in mind that if you request to wait until your term grades are posted, it may take an additional 2 weeks to process your request. It really depends on how long it takes the Registrar's Office to process final grades.

';Hold for degree'; means that you want your transcript to be sent after your degree is posted to your transcript. If you are graduating at the end of this term, select this choice to ensure that your degree is reflected on your transcript. Keep in mind that if you wait until your degree is posted, it may take 1-2 months to process your request. Normally the conferral of degrees are a manual process and it may take some time.

If you need your transcripts to be sent immediately, request for multiple copies. Request for a copy to be sent now and the other copy to be sent after your grades or your degree are posted.

Best wishes!
